Arctic Stillness: Yoga, Wildness & Wonder in Norway’s Lofoten Islands
Join me for an unforgettable 7-night adventure to the remote Lofoten Islands of Northern Norway — where rugged landscapes, Arctic seas and deep winter stillness invite us to slow down, awaken the senses and reconnect with what truly matters.
This is not your typical yoga retreat.
Set amongst dramatic mountains, fishing villages and wild Nordic landscapes, this journey is designed for those craving something deeper than escape — an experience that feels immersive, grounding and alive. A chance to step away from the noise of modern life and into a simpler rhythm shaped by nature, movement, ritual, nourishing food and awe.
We’ll stay at the beautifully restored Trevarefabrikken — a former fish factory transformed into one of the most unique spaces in the Arctic. Industrial history meets Nordic warmth: reclaimed wood, original details, large factory windows and views across the fishing village and surrounding mountains.
Mornings begin slowly with yoga, breathwork and embodied movement practices designed to support the nervous system and meet you exactly where you are. Expect intelligent, soulful movement rooted in nearly 25 years of teaching experience — classes that weave together somatic flow, storytelling, philosophy and practices that feel meaningful for real modern life.
Outside of practice, the adventure unfolds.
Snowshoeing through silent Arctic landscapes beneath headlamps and star-filled skies. Warming ourselves in an oceanfront sauna before plunging into the icy Vestfjord sea. Gathering around fires with coffee and stories. Chasing the Northern Lights. Exploring the flavours and traditions of Lofoten through unforgettable regional dining experiences and sea-to-table fishing traditions.
The landscape itself becomes part of the practice.
The cold air that sharpens your senses.
The silence that quiets the mind.
The wildness that reminds you how alive you are.
And somewhere amongst it all, everyday life begins to feel very far away.

Highlights of the Adventure
Arctic Sauna Rituals
As an integral part of life in Northern Norway, sauna culture invites us into the beautiful simplicity of heat, cold and presence.
Perched on the edge of the Arctic sea, Trevarefabrikken’s ocean-view sauna offers sweeping views across the Vestfjord and surrounding mountains. We warm ourselves slowly before stepping directly into the icy sea — an invigorating ritual that awakens the body, sharpens the senses and leaves you feeling deeply alive.
Snowshoeing Beneath Arctic Skies
As darkness falls over Lofoten, the landscape transforms into something almost otherworldly.
Guided by headlamps, we’ll snowshoe through quiet winter terrain, pausing to absorb the stillness and dramatic scenery around us. Sheltered inside a traditional Norwegian gapahuk, we’ll gather around the fire for coffee, stories and moments of warmth amidst the wildness.
And if the skies are kind to us, perhaps even the Northern Lights dancing overhead.
Catch & Dine: Sea to Table
One of the most unforgettable experiences of the week.
We’ll board the historic fishing vessel MS Symra and head out onto Arctic waters to experience the centuries-old fishing traditions of Lofoten. After learning local methods and catching our fish, the day culminates in a beautifully prepared three-course dinner crafted from our own catch alongside seasonal regional ingredients.
An experience rooted in simplicity, nourishment, community and connection to place.
Food & Gathering
Food is a central part of every Blue Lotus Adventure.
Expect deeply nourishing meals inspired by the Arctic landscape and local traditions — fresh seafood, warming dishes, seasonal produce and unforgettable dining experiences in some of Lofoten’s most atmospheric settings.
We’ll dine together inside historic waterfront buildings scented with tar and rope, gather for long candlelit meals after days spent outdoors and rediscover the quiet ritual of slowing down enough to truly savour food, conversation and connection.
